Roadrunner Women Earn NSCAA Academic Honor

Nov. 30, 2007

MISSION, KAN. - Metro State was one of 295 women's soccer teams nationally to earn the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) team academic award, which is given to those programs with a team grade point average of 3.0 or better, the organization announced.

It is the fourth consecutive year and the fifth time in the past six years that the Roadrunner women have been recognized.

The NSCAA honored 406 programs, including 111 men's teams and 295 women's teams, in all divisions across the country. Metro State's women, coached by Danny Sanchez, posted a grade point average of 3.16 for the 2006-07 academic year. The complete list of winners can be found at www.nscaa.com.

The women went 16-4-2 overall and advanced to their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament.
