Holland Houchin begins her first season as an assistant coach at Metro State in 2007-08.

Prior to arriving at Metro State, Houchin spent one season as the assistant coach at Newman University, where she helped with recruiting, strength and conditioning, travel and other administrative duties. While at Newman, she also handled game management for all of the school's 17 sports.

Before her season at Newman, Houchin served as the head girls' basketball coach at Vista (Calif.) High School for two seasons, and also coached at Lincoln Middle School and several AAU traveling club teams in Southern California.

Houchin played two seasons at Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe Colorado Christian, before graduating in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in social science. She then spent the 2003-04 season as a graduate assistant coach with the Cougars.
