Roadrunners Fall To Colorado Christian In RMAC Tournament, 79-69

LAKEWOOD, COLO. -- Colorado Christian rallied from a five-point halftime deficit and defeated Metro State, 79-69, in the first round of the RMAC Tournament, Friday evening at the Cougar Event Center. Terrell Burgess had 21 points, while Marquise Carrington added 17 points for the Roadrunners. Brian Stamer led CCU with 23 points and 17 boards. It was just a one-point game, 52-51, with 5:31 to play but the Cougars went on a 17-6 run to take a 12-point advantage, 69-57, with 1:51 remaining. Colorado Christian scored 50 second-half points after shooting 50 percent from the floor. Metro State made 10 treys in the contest but shot only 38 percent from the floor in the game. The Roadrunners led 34-29 at the break. The Cougars led 26-16 midway through the period but Metro State went on an 18-3 run to close the half. With the win, Colorado Christian improves to 17-11, while Metro State's season ends at 19-12. |
