Roadrunners Sweep Saturday Games

Metro State hosted New Mexico Highlands in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Auraria Field. The Roadrunners' bats were on fire as the team overall went 25 for 44 in a 16-13 victory over NMHU. Six batters for Metro State had at least three hits in the game, and both Reece Gorman and Dakota Nahm hit homeruns. Game two didn't have the high score, but there was plenty of drama in Metro State's 3-2 win. The score was tied in the bottom of the seventh with one out and the bases loaded. Starting catcher Reece Gorman was at the plate, and NMHU pitcher K. Piho hit Gorman to walk in the winning run. With the wins Metro State improves to 14-3 overall, 6-0 in the RMAC. New Mexico Highlands falls to 8-9 overall, 0-6 in the RMAC. |
