Men Sixth, Women Eighth After First Day of RMAC Championships

KEARNEY, NEB. -- Metro State's men are sixth, while the women are eighth after the first day of the RMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Kearney, Neb.

Western State leads the men with 67 points, followed by Nebraska-Kearney with 48 points and Adams State with 35 points. Metro State is sixth with five points. For the women, Western State leads with 64.5 points, while Adams State has 59 points and Nebraska-Kearney has 37 points. The Roadrunners are eighth with three points.

Both Metro State distance medley relay teams scored Friday as the men placed fourth in a time of 10:09.80 and the women were sixth in a time of 13:01.41.

In the 5000 meters, Jessica Jenkins and Rick Bogatay each placed 11th overall. Sheila Hughes advanced to the 60-meter finals on Saturday.

The championships conclude Saturday in Kearney.
